Amma in Coimbatore: Baduga Dance

21-23 January 2007 —For the past three or four years, the Badaga community from Ooty have sung and danced for Amma. This year was no exception. The Badaga's music was an onslaught of drums and cymbals—a powerful and glorious ruckus that created a stirring counterpoint to their synchronized slow-motion dancing. When Amma finished darshan, the Badaga did not stop. With their music resonating all around her, Amma began imitating the Badaga? graceful dance. The Badaga felt that Amma was really one with their community.
