July 2007. Amma held two days of public programmes in Dallas, Texas. She was welcomed by Joe Chow, Mayor of the Town of Addison. "Amma has dedicated Herself, She has done so much Humanitarian aid and relief for the Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina disaster," noted Mr. Chow in his speech.

Dallas is the home of a about 30,000 Asian Indians. About 3-1/2 hours away is the University of Austin, where the Center for South Asian Studies is one of the few places in the U.S. to offer Malayalam as a course of study.
