Krishna Jayanthi is celebrated in Amritapuri
3 September 2007"Sri Krishna is the embodiment of goodness and beauty. From brith till death, Krishna's life was extraordinary. It was due to the unwavering faith of Vasudeva and Devaki that the Lord took birth as their son. This teaches us that no matter how what adverse circumstances one may face, we should not loose faith in the Lord." The day began with the Ashram cows being led to the front of the Temple where a special 'go-puja' ceremony was performed. In the afternoon, children dressed as little Krishnas, Radhas, and Gopis and walked in procession through the Ashram to a local village temple. When they returned to the Ashram, they participated in Uriyadi – trying to break a small pot while being doused with water. As midnight approached, Amma came to the stage and addressed the crowd. She then sang bhajans and danced to 'Gopalo Nacho Nacho' before giving prasad to everyone.
