Amma visited Madurai on 2 February for a one day public programme at the Medical College Grounds.
Sri. K.K.S.R. Ramachandran, the Honourable Minister of Health & Hygiene for Tamil Nadu distributed pension checks to new enrolees in the Amrita Nidhi Pension Program for widows and handicapped people. Mayor of Madurai, Smt. Tenmozhi, distributed sewing machines.
Minister Ramachandran also addressed the gathered crowd: "This land will never forget your help. This land needs your blessing. This government needs your blessing. These people need your blessing," he said.
